The Anthony Tanaka Remembrance Day is a holiday in the United Empire of Earth (UEE) held annually on December 3rd, to remember the death of Anthony Tanaka.

History

In 2757 Anthony Tanaka, a child laborer, was publicly executed by a member of the Advocacy for refusal to continue working.[1] Footage of the the incident was used by members of the anti-Messer movement to encourage resistance against the cruelty of the Messer government.[2]

In 2793, after the Anti-Messer Revolution, Imperator Erin Toi signed a declaration recognizing the anniversary of Anthony Tanaka's death as a holiday.

While the holiday is still actively observed in the UEE, some are beginning to forget it's origins and the story of Tanaka.[3] Others are using the holiday to push modern agendas.[4]

Tradition

Observers light candles while observing a moment of silence.
