The Scorpius is a dual-seat heavy fighter manufactured by Roberts Space Industries (RSI). With an adaptable bi-wing configuration and revolutionary rail-mounted remote turret, the Scorpius offers unprecedented fire coverage, allowing for both defensive and assault-minded applications.[1]

The Scorpius was designed by RSI's Applied Innovations division in Kilian and tested by the 999th Test Squadron of the UEE Navy.[1]

Features

  • Weapons: With a total of eight Size 3 gun hard-points as well as racks that hold up to sixteen Size 2 missiles, the Scorpius offers a powerful sting against any enemy craft.
  • Powerful on-rails turret: With 4x Size 3 ballistic cannons, the Scorpius' turret offers unprecedented range, coverage, and firepower. It can be operated by either a dedicated operator who has full control of the turret or it can be slaved by the pilot in a restricted forward only firing mode. It has a dual configuration: defensive and offensive.
  • Convertible Spaceframe: Two distinct wing configurations reduce profile while landed and for storage
  • Equipment Storage: Features two 1,500k µSCU storage units providing enough space for both crew members. Also included is a drop-down weapon holder supporting 2 rifles, 2 pistols, and 2 small gadgets (such as the Multi-Tool). Both features are accessed externally and located underneath the cockpit.

Development

The Scorpius was first spotted in game in Alpha 3.13.1 Public Test Universe (PTU-7421225) build. It was intended to be showcased in the RSI expo in the 2951 Invictus Launch Week event.[6] Its loaner vehicles were the F7C-M Super Hornet and Hurricane. It was released in Alpha 3.17.1.[7]
